A very busy Queensday!

First we went to the local market for children across the street. Carmen could use a few new puzzles. We found those and of course some great bargains. Next year we will have to start selling too.

Then after a quick bite, to the great fair. Getting there was a journey along lots of market stalls with more stuff.

The fair was crouded but a lot of fun. I won a ladybug for Carmen by winning the camel race (I still got it! :-)) . We went for a ride in the ferris which gave a beautiful view over Haarlem.

Carmen was most impressed by her pony ride. She still talks about Pinky.

enjoying the sun

Wednesday is my part time day so I can spend all day with my daughter Carmen.  Today was a lovely sunny day.
We were most part of the day in the garden. There are not that many flowers yet so I searched my archive and here are some photo´s from last year.
I can´t wait till the garden is in bloom and probaly go to the garden center to help mother nature a hand

Lazy Sunday afternoon cookies

Nothing more fun than baking cookies Sunday afternoon with Carmen. She, like me, loves the cookie dough so it was a challenge to get enough cookies to bake.
The result:  a bowl full of love :-)

My contribution to Spoonflower contest

The idea that I can create my own pattern on fabric is just amazing and Spoonflower makes it possible.
They have a weekly contest. I liked the project to create a cheater quilt with a robot theme.  I have been working on it for hours ( sorry Edwin, Carmen and Moos) but I am very proud of the result. I already ordered the fabric.

After you submit your entry, people can vote for a week and after that
there is a top 10 published. Mine was not in the top 10. I don´t know how many votes I got ( at least one, thank you mom) but I do know some people added my quilt as favorite and I received some messages with compliments :-).
I have to be patient, because although the fabric is created and shipped, it will take up to 3 weeks untill it arrives.

My first DIY project: a whale softie

I discovered this whale softie tutorial .
I finally found a destination for my tunic that I haven´t worn over 3 years but couldn´t throw away because I just love the fabric.

It is a very easy project and even though I wasn´t able to get the exact right shape, my daughter loves her "fish".
